South Korea GHG Reporting Company Database


684 companies, emitting a total of around 580 MtCO2


The Korea GHG Reporting Company Database provides greenhouse gas emissions data as well as energy consumption and sales revenue information on around 700 companies based in South Korea. Under the South Korean State regulations, these companies have had to report their greenhouse gas emissions since 2007.

Moreover, the vast majority of these companies are also participating to the Korean carbon cap-and-trade programme, which started on 1 January 2015.

  • Company name
  • Sector of activity
  • Administrative body (managing ministry)
  • Greenhouse gas emissions (tCO2e) from 2007 to 2013
  • Energy consumption (TJ) from 2007 to 2013
  • Sales turnover (KRW) for the year 2012

Total of energy consumption reported in 2013: 7.5 million TJ

Total of sales revenues reported in 2012: 2,000 trillion KRW (eq to 1,800 billion USD at 2012 exchange rate)

Greenhouse gas emissions covered: CO2, CH4, N2O, HFCs, PFCs, and SF6
